I Like Zsh

The Z shell (zsh) is a Unix shell that can be used as an interactive login shell and as a powerful command interpreter for shell scripting. Zsh can be thought of as an extended bourne shell with a large number of improvements, including some of the most useful features of bash, ksh, and tcsh. The first version of zsh was written by Paul Falstad in 1990 when he was a student at Princeton University. The name zsh derives from Zhong Shao, then a teaching assistant at Princeton University. Paul Falstad thought that Shao’s login name, “zsh”, was a good name for a shell. Monowall PfSense Ils sont tous deux basés sur FreeBSD. Monowall ne pése que 5 Mo (FreeBSD 4.x) tandis que PfSense lui pése au alentour de 31 Mo (FreeBSD 5.x) mais permet l’installation aisée d’autres pcakets comme ntop, nmpa et co :).

Voici comment installer correctement la carte Wifi Intel BG 2200 Pro sur l’Amilo M3438G. En premier lieux vérifier que le noyau ne reconnaissent aucune des cartes Wifi. Ensuite faire un emerge ipw2200 suivit par emerge wireless-tools (Aide). Après il faut identifier la carte : iwconfig

Actions à executer : Démarrer le LiveCD de Gentoo

fdisk soit sur /dev/sda ou sur /dev/sdb/

Partitionner le(s) disque(s)

/boot : 64 ou 128 Mo
/(root) : 8 Go
/home : 8 Go
/swap : 512 Mo ou 1Go

Formatter les partitions

mke2fs /dev/sdxx (boot)
mke2fs -j /dev/sdxx (root)
mke2fs -j /dev/sdxx (home)
mkswap /dev/sdxx (swap)
swapon /dev/sdxx (swap)

Monter les partitions

mount /dev/sdxx /mnt/gentoo
mkdir /mnt/gentoo/boot
mount /dev/sdxx /mnt/gentoo/boot
mkdir /mnt/gentoo/home
mount /dev/sdxx /mnt/gentoo/home

Télécharger Stage et Portage

cd /mnt/gentoo
links http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml
(stage3 et portage)
tar xvjpf stage3-*.tar.bz2
tar -xvjf /mnt/gentoo/portage-<date>.tar.bz2 -C /mnt/gentoo/usr

Editer le make.conf

nano -w /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf
Ajouter MAKEOPTS="-j2"
mirrorselect -i -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf
mirrorselect -i -r -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf

Copier le DNS

cp -L /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolv.conf

WRT54GL avec DD-WRT

Ayant recu mon nouveau routeur Linksys WRT54GL, je ne pu m’empécher de changer le firmware (micrologiciel) de Lynksys pour y mettre le firmware Open Source DD-WRT.

Mais c’est quoi DD-WRT ?
DD-WRT est un firmware 100% gratuit pour les routeurs Linksys WRT54G/GS 802.11g (qui fonctionnent sur un Linux minimaliste). Ce firmware est maintenu par BrainSlayer sur dd-wrt.com. DD-WRT est basé sur le firmware Alchemy de Sveasoft Inc (http://www.sveasoft.com/), lequel a été construit sur la distribution GPL originale de Linksys et sur d’autres projets open source.
DD-WRT existe comme conséquence de la nécessité de s’acquitter de 17 euro pour accéder aux firmwares de Sveasoft. DD-WRT propose différentes fonctionnalités avancées non disponibles dans le firmware Linksys d’origine, ou dans celui, payant, de Sveasoft. DD-WRT est aussi exempt de système d’activation ou de tracking comme dans les firmwares Sveasoft. Parmi les fonctions non trouvées dans le firmware linksys, DD-WRT offre le Serveur Kai pour le réseau de jeu pour console KAI, WDS Passerelle sans fil/répéteur, Authentification Radius pour des communications sans fil securisées, Un contrà´le avancé de la Qualité de service pour l’allocation de la bande passante, et le support logiciel des SD-Card.
